ABOUT
Born in London and initially trained as a dancer, Tim's interest in photography began early and continued throughout his dancing career. A Praktica MTL3 SLR camera given to him by his parents when he was twelve, started a lifelong fascination with photography.
After studying at the Arts Educational School and the Royal Ballet Upper School, he joined Birmingham Royal Ballet (formerly Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet) in 1988. For the next 15 years he performed a wide variety of repertoire in the UK and abroad, and was promoted to First Soloist in 1998.
With the support and assistance of Dancers Career Development he was able to make the transition from film to digital photography, and establish himself as a freelance Dance & Theatre Photographer.
It continues to be the perfect career for him. It fulfills his love of photography and technology, satisfies his need for creativity whilst utilising his experience and knowledge of dance and theatre.
His work regularly appears in major publications and newspapers.
